Our Mission:
Freedom.
“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” - Emma Lazarus, as Inscribed on the Statue of Liberty
Our Impact
On Friday July 12th, 2019, Lights for Liberty, along with organizers worldwide, brought hundreds of thousands of people to 818 locations across the country and abroad, into the streets and into their own front yards, to protest the inhumane conditions faced by migrants.
Two years have passed and although the intentional cruelty of the Trump years are behind us, the Biden Administration has much work to do in rebuilding a safe and humane asylum system. We are encouraged by the early acts of a compassionate new President, but refuse to take the pressure off with regards to this continued humanitarian crisis until his policies and the practices of ICE, CBP, DHS & HHS are in alignment. This year we will gather in Washington D.C. to hold a vigil urging HHS, the department responsible for housing migrant children, to immediately take all necessary steps to ensure that migrant children are protected and nurtured while in the care of the government and released expeditiously to family members and sponsors.
We have prepared this social media kit to educate voters about the plight of refugee and migrant children in the United States. Please share this information with your friends, families and networks and help us keep this very important issue at the forefront of voter’s minds.

Lights for Liberty seeks to work in solidarity and allyship with impacted communities and grassroots organizations both new and historic, those who are well-funded and on shoe-string budgets. We are moved to mobilize with anyone: moms, dads, and people of moral conscience who cannot stand to see families and communities destroyed. Simply put, our country is at a tipping point.
